Atmosphere
Lots of fun. This race brings in thousands of runners and is very popular with the Calgary/Edmonton crowd. The courses are amongst the most scenic anywhere and all in all it makes for a great weekend.

Overview
The Melissa's Road Race is Banff's most famous race bringing in thousand's of runners each September. While the race is not billed as a fundraising event, the organizers do donate their profits back into the community. The huge influx of racers also benefits local business on what would otherwise be a relatively slow weekend.
The start/finish area is at the Banff Recreation Grounds. 4,500 runners set off from here on either the 10km or 22km course.
This race sells out very quickly, within a few hours of online registration opening. Online registration will be available February 20, 2007.
