Overview
The trail is typical of many others in the region, starting off with a wide forested trail which climbs quickly, becoming rockier as it goes. The upper section can be very wet and muddy even in July and you should be prepared to run into snowy sections.
Trailhead
Car:
Drive towards Lake Louise on either the Trans Canada Highway 1 or the Bow Valley Parkway Highway 1A. If you are on Hwy 1 then take the Castle Junction exit onto the 1A. Turn left (towards Lake Louise) and the trailhead is a few hundred metres on your right.

Trail
The trail starts from the Rockbound Lake parking lot and trailhead. It rises quickly through dense forest and the views a limited until you are well into the run. The upper section before Tower Lake is quite rocky and as the trail levels out for Tower Lake you may well get wet feet. Run past the lake and take the steep trail up to Rockbound Lake above.
